Privacy
Built so you never have to trust us.
Hark has no servers, so there is nothing to leak, subpoena, train on, or breach.
What leaves your computer
- Model downloads from Hugging Face and GitHub, when you ask for them, verified by SHA-256.
- Nothing else, unless you configure your own model endpoint (Ollama, LM Studio). Then transcript text goes to that server, which is yours.
What Hark never does
- No account, sign-in, or license check.
- No telemetry, analytics, or crash reports.
- No bot in your meetings; other participants see nothing.
- No automatic recording, naming, or sharing. Every one of those needs a click.
Share links
When you create a share link, Hark serves that one recording from your computer to devices on the same network, only while Hark is open and the link is enabled. Links are 128-bit random tokens. Disable or delete them from the meeting or from Settings.
Consent
Recording other people may require their consent where you live. Hark makes it easy to record properly, and it is your responsibility to do so.
